Never Fail Fudge

Ingredients

  • -- 2 1/2 cups sugar

  • -- 3/4 tsp vanilla

  • -- 1/4 cup butter or margarine

  • -- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • -- 3/4 tsp salt

  • -- 1 (7.5oz) jar marshmallow fluff

  • -- 1 small can (5oz) evaporated milk


Instructions

Combine first 5 ingredients. Stir over low heat until blended. Bring to a boil over moderate heat, being careful not to mistake air bubbles for boiling. Then boil slowly, constantly stirring, for 5 minutes (to soft ball stage). Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate and vanilla until chocolate is melted. Then turn into a buttered 8- or 9-inch baking pan and cool.
